Collection Scarves

Scarf 2

Itajime Shibori made by folding the fabric in concertina fashion, folding again and clamping tightly between selected shapes. Because the fabric is protected both by the folding and clamping, only those parts that contact the dye are coloured.

“Itajime” means “board-clamping”

Fabric: Lightweight hemp, grown on a family farm in Margaret River, Western Australia.

Dye: Natural indigo dye, grown and processed in a village collective in Utrakand, India.

Size: 60cm x 200cm with handmade fringe
